Poor Old Granny

Actors: Granny, her grand-daughter - GD must be fairly athletic - a few village boys

Scene: Old Granny's House

Granny: I'm sorry dearie, I've only got enough money for one potato to last us the rest of the week, so off you go to play.

GD: Yes Granny (goes out)

Scene: The Village Green

GD to boys: Will you let me have some chewing gum?.

Boy: yes, if you turn a cartwheel.
GD turns a cartwheel, boys grin and give her gum

Scene: Old Granny's House

GD enters chewing gum

Granny: Where did you get that gum?

GD: The boys in the village gave it to me.

Granny: (suspiciously) What did you do for them?

GD: I only turned a cartwheel.

Granny: I've told you a million times you mustn't do that.

Later the same day:

GD: Granny can I have some money.

Granny: I'm sorry dearie, I've only got enough money for a cup-full of rice to last us the rest of the week, so off you go to play ... and don't do any cartwheels, the boys only want you to do that so that they can see your knickers

GD: Yes Granny (goes out)

Scene: The Village Green

GD to boys: Will you let me have some chewing gum.

Boy: yes, if you turn a cartwheel.
GD turns a cartwheel, boys chortle and give her gum

Scene: Old Granny's House

GD enters chewing gum

Granny: Where did you get that gum?

GD: The boys in the village gave it to me.

Granny: (suspiciously) You didn't turn a cartwheel, did you?

GD: Yes Granny

Granny : I've told you the boys only want you to do it so that they can see your knickers.

GD: Oh that's all right, Granny. I wasn't wearing any.

Granny chases GD, telling her off good and proper
