Letters re. Gift Aid
Dear Parent/Guardian GIFT AID We have a chance to increase the amount of money coming into our unit from the girls' subscriptions by as much as 28% but to do this we need your help : by having you sign the enclosed form we can, as a result of new government legislation, claim back from the Inland Revenue 28% of the money you have paid for your daughter's subscription. (This only applies if you pay Income Tax; the notes on the bottom of the Gift Aid Declaration explain this to you in more detail.) It will not cost you ANYTHING and you will only ever be asked to sign this form once - it lasts for as long as you continue to pay Income Tax and your daughter continues to be a member of (your unit name here.) If the parents/guardians of all the girls in our unit sign and return the form, this will enable us to increase our income by around (work out the amount - about £11 per head if your subs are £1 a week) at no cost to anyone (except the Inland Revenue!) - as you can well imagine, we would find this amount of money very useful and it would of course be spent entirely on the girls. If you have any questions then please ask and we will do our best to get you an answer; if you would like to sign the form, please do so and send it back with your daughter to our next meeting. Yours faithfully
