Making It Count!

Making It Count! is for any member of the Senior Section - although primarily aimed at 14 - 16 year olds. It is designed to help you to develop leadership skills which are invaluable for personal growth and future projects.

To complete the Leadership Skills Certificate you will need to complete a total of 20 Challenges from the three sections Me, Me as a Leader and Leadership in Guiding.

Me - 5 Challenges
Me is all about yourself, helping you to find out what you are good at, and to build on your strengths. Working through this section will help you to identify and develop skills and attitudes that will be useful throughout your life. Complete one challenge under each of the following headings, you may do more if you wish:

• My Values
• Life and Choices
• Understanding Others
• Developing your Skills

Me as a Leader - 6 Challenges
Me as a Leader encourages you to arrange activities both by yourself and with others. It looks at personal skills and practical skills as well as the knowledge that leaders need. Remember that in this section, the group you choose to work with can be from any area in your life, for example at school or through a hobby, and not just in Guiding. Complete one challenge under each of the following headings, you may do more if you wish:

Leadership in Guiding - 9 Challenges
Leadership in Guiding focuses on using the skills you have developed in Guiding, perhaps as a Young Leader or helping at other Guiding events locally. Complete one challenge under each of the following headings, you may do more if you wish:
